& Etc.

Awww! One of my younger brothers got married!

That's my younger brother Marshall and his new wife Ardith. (Isn't she gorgeous?) They've actually been together for about nine years, but they finally decided to make it official.

Congratulations, crazy kids!

& etc.

In other news, Albus the studio cat is still among us. He's curled up with Dave right now. He goes back to the studio on Saturday. So far, he's eaten about six cans of cat food in two days but he hasn't pooped, which worries me. But anyway, his injuries are well on their way to being healed up. So there's that.

What else? Oh, yes! Dave and I are going to soon be off to Philadelphia and New York City, to see a few museums and historical sites. One of the big reasons for going to NYC is not to see Times Square get emptied out because of terrorist threats, but to go to MOMA to see Marina Abramovic:The Artist Is Present. The New York Times has been raving about it for months, I love women artists and it's rare to see a woman get a major exhibition at such a prestigious museum, and it closes at the end of May, so we're going to run off and see it. While we're in NYC, we're also going to visit the Museum of American Folk Art which has a Henry Darger exhibit going on right now. In Philadelphia, we're going to visit the Mütter Museum, of course. I've been obsessed with the idea of visiting this museum since I saw a traveling exhibition here in our little burg years ago. (I want to buy this book there.) We're also going to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art because there's an exhibition called Informed by Fire: Highlights of American Ceramics that we want to see. If there's any time left over, we might try to fit in a cheesesteak or two--though I don't know how we're going to find a vegetarian cheesesteak for Dave.

Should be a whirlwind little vacay for us.
