Friday Went Nowhere

Is it Friday already? Why yes, I suppose it is.

Yesterday was a day. Thursday to be exact. Therapy Thursday followed by too much chocolate and a long, long nap. Otherwise not a damn productive thing was done yesterday.

I'm thinking the studio is the place to be this morning, but even that requires an output of energy that I'm not sure is worth it. I'm not tired exactly, even though my sleep schedule has gone to hell (I went to sleep around midnight and got up at 2:30 or so). In that state, tiredness comes very quickly though, and I hate to be caught out when it happens.

Last night I flitted about the internet, played solitaire on my phone, read from Mann's 1491 which is killing me, very very slowly. I'm in the very earliest part of the book, still, because it takes so much out of me to read history.

Much, much later:

We--meaning Dave--planted and transplanted tonight. Dave put the bok choi bedding plants in as well as replacing our little Italian basil (which didn't make it) with a larger, heartier basil plant. Into pots went some seeds: purslane (verdolagas in Spanish and, oh, here's this hilarious page about cooking them into taco filling), shiso, ground cherries, and thai eggplant. Oh yes, the heirloom seeds Dave ordered arrived today by the way.) We also couldn't resist the sirens' song of the tomato and bought a one-gallon purple Cherokee heirloom tomato plant that will go into the garden this weekend.

After that we ran off to the co-op for dinner fixings. Dave was ready to try some solid-er food, so we made a very soft macaroni and cheese and some mashed cauliflower. He also ate scrambled eggs today and right now he's finishing off a container of chocolate pudding. Yes, life is hard around here, post-oral surgery.  I expect he'll be up to chips and salsa by this time tomorrow.
