Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast

Just enough time for a few facts and impressions:

One: Happy birthday, Mom!! I love and miss you something fierce.

Two: Dave is here. I came out of my second to last class and there he was, larger than life (and larger than anything and certainly anyone else) in the lobby. I hugged him and the students watched every move and listened to every word. I had a few minutes to introduce him around, then I went to teach my last class.

Three: The last class included the handsome businessman. After class, the businessman kept and kept and kept me because he was angry and jealous a bit. And that is difficult to explain, but sometime I will try. The net result is that I will from now on only call him by his first name.

Four: I took a four thousand yen cab ride home from Toranomon after a fight with my sailor. I said no drama and I meant no drama, so what in the hell was I doing jumping into a cab in front of his apartment building at three in the morning while he stood there in a coat hastily thrown over his underwear? No drama, I said. Right?

Five: David is here and this morning we are going to visit a student's family temple and then perhaps to Kamakura--though both Dave and I are wracked and I tried to figure out how little sleep I've gotten in the last four days and I stopped when I realized that the figure was going to be less than twelve hours.

And...ah, I'm....

Six: David came bearing altar gifts. I'll explain that later, but for the moment, thank you for everything, all who came forth. Thank you. My heart is so rarely completely broken and changed and reformed with such force, but that is what happened as I sat and unwrapped each perfect message from the universe.
