What is it that I love about Tokyo?
One of the things I like best is that it is decaying.
Everyday everyone pretends that it's not happening. Everyday old women in aprons desperately sweep the streets and old men put nets over the garbage to keep the crows away and architects design buildings that contractors are already building in another part of the city. And all around their frantic efforts, Tokyo is in decay.
I find that indescribably beautiful.
