Fruity
Dave and I took stock today of all the fruits we've eaten in Thailand. There are seven (seven!) that we'd never tried before:
1. Rambutan
2. Jackfruit
3. Snakefruit
4. Red Dragonfruit
5. Mangosteen
6. Custard Apple
7. Durian
Have you ever eaten durian? I told the Ex-Student that I was coming to Thailand and he, giving me a list of things to do, said, "You can try durian. They call it the King Of Fruits. But I think it is more like King of Bad Smells." Actually, I've tried it twice, once cooked and once raw. It's not sweet at all, and raw, it has a kind of custard-like texture. It tastes a bit like a creamy onion, which plays with one's head a bit...
Tomorrow we leave Thailand and it's home to familiar fruits.
Ah.
