Happy Day After Thanksgiving
Neither Dave nor I being Thanksgiving aficionados, our original plan for last night's dinner plan leaned heavily toward the frozen pizza option. (We had planned on a take-out pizza from the bakery, but when we called in the morning we were told that they weren't making pizzas on Thanksgiving.) But fate intervened and instead of frozen pizza, we had a fabulous dinner with my friend and all around great dog Lewie, and his owners (one of whom is seen here practicing the "lift with your knees, not with your back" method of getting the expertly carved turkey to the table.)
Though I don't have a photo of the full dinner (turkey (quorn for Dave), stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, Brussels sprouts, salad, cheese, bread, and cranberry sauce), but I do have a photo of dessert (baked apples, turtle pie from Boisy, and ice cream).
Looks good, doesn't it?
I'm a bit of a pig when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner. When I was a child I could--and would--eat down to the tablecloth. I remember one year being in serious pain, I was so full--but I still wanted pie. I think I had to be forcibly removed from the table and sent outside to play. Now that I'm an adult, I'm a little more restrained. But only a little. I still want to eat down to the tablecloth, but now I stop at the plate.
For Your Amusement
Because it might amuse you, here is a small selection of Google search terms that led people to my little blog last week:
From Thailand (I think): "somali man" "american girl" marriage
I was surprised at this one, thinking I've never in my life typed the word "Somali man." I was wrong, of course. There was a Somali man who lived in Higashi-Mukojima. I crossed paths with him one night at Konami Sports Club and we chatted and I wrote about it. His name was Bohan and he was married to a Japanese woman.
From the Phillipines: what are the problems met by science teachers in relation with the behavior of korean studenst
I include this because it seems awfully specific. I often wrote about being an American I guess pickings out there are slim when it comes to this subject though, so Google has to offer my writings about being an American teacher in relation to Japanese students.
From Arizona: chimayo in santa fe
Google moves fast. It's only been in the last couple of weeks that I've written about visiting the Santuario at Chimayo with Katsu and Naomi.
And, my favorite, from the Netherlands: big boobs trip
Drink your milk, ladies!
