The Photo

So, Saigon Restaurant is in this random strip mall that houses another coupla restaurants, a tanning place, a comedy club, and this place, not a store exactly, but what it is exactly is not quite clear. It seems to be some shrine to railroads in New Mexico, but, you know: What? Anyway, I took this photo of the railroad crossing sign in the window of this place.

'Flicks

I've been Netflicksing recently. Today I saw The Basketball Diaries, the Leonardo DiCaprio film made in 1995. I think it was much lauded at the time, but it's only a meh film. Yesterday, I watched Born Yesterday, the original not the remake, with Judy Holliday in the lead. I love that movie. I also started to rewatch Gilda, the Rita Hayworth vehicle, but something about the character was making me antsy. The scene where she drinks to her own destruction thrills me, so I watched the movie up to that point, then gave up on it.

Maybe Spring

Judi and I have been walking everyday again. It's nice to take Crunch out with us. Since Judi's return from Africa, Crunch has reassigned me to the cool aunt role and is again thrilled to see me. (He was much less thrilled with me when I was the one putting him in his crate at night and preventing him from doing things like eating rocks.) Judi told me today that when she took Crunch out this morning, they saw a woman with long dark hair walking across the park and Crunch got really excited--until he got closer and realized that it wasn't me. How cute is my little dog?
