Kyoto photos

This is the elevator in my apartment building in Tokyo.
Let me tell you about this elevator.
First, I don't think I ever pressed any button but the 8, the 11, and the 1. My apartment was on the eighth floor and Ben's was on the 11th floor and to get out of the building by elevator, I had to, of course, go down to the first floor. The only time I can remember getting out of the elevator on any floor but those three was when there was an enormous earthquake that caused the building to shake so much that the elevator's doors popped open, stranding me on the fourth floor.
Why take such photos? There's nothing special about elevators I guess. They're pretty much the same world over. I mean, this one does have some kanji buttons (one meaning "door open" one meaning "door close"), but for the most part, elevators are blandly similar and self-explanatory.
But this was my elevator. For whatever that's worth.
