Dentists, Pitas, & Mediocre Cupcakes

This is the view from the dentist's chair, ca. 11:00 a.m. this past Monday.

the day

I've been having to spend a lot of time in dentists' offices recently, between getting a tooth pulled and the subsequent surgery to start the implant procedure. The convenience factor is a bit funny: My oral surgeon is married to my dentist, so coordinating appointments and getting the crown made post-surgery has so far been very convenient. Unfortunately, that amount of convenience is balanced by the inconvenience of their shared office being on the other side of town, a twenty-minute drive at best.

However, that inconvenience is tempered by their office being relatively close to Dave's office, so if I'm there around noon, we can have lunch together. This past monday, we did just that.

the day

We went to a new-ish Greek restaurant. That's Dave's pita--falafel, I think--and potatoes and a cup of lentil soup. I had a chicken pita and Greek salad. (I didn't take a picture because by the time I remembered I had the camera, I had already taken a bite of my sandwich.)

After lunch, we went to the bakery next door and picked up a dozen mini-cupcakes for Dave to take back to his office mates.

the day

I didn't have a mini-cupcake. It's not that I'm particularly virtuous, it's mostly that the cupcakes from this place aren't very good and I'm loathe to bust up my diet for a lesser cupcake. However, such is the nature of office mates to wholeheartedly welcome sugar and carbs in any form that even mediocre mini-cupcakes can have a positive effect on their psyches.
