Miss Cat

Ah. So it has come to this. Yes it has. That's a crappy cell phone photo of one of today's embroidery projects, one of a pair of tea towels that I'm embroidering as a Christmas gift for a friend. (She doesn't read my blog so I'm not giving anything away by posting this here).

Yes, as a matter of fact that is a cat wearing a little pinafore and sweeping up. I found the iron-on pattern for this little cat at the craft store today, where I went to buy only the most necessary things (and about six other things besides, including the bag of chocolate covered pretzels that was the cornerstone of my day's caloric intake).

I love the cat's expression, that oh-so-familiar-to-cat-owners Why me? Why this? Why now? feline weariness in response to, well, anything really, and especially in response to the humiliation dished up by the nonsensical world of iron-on embroidery patterns. And trust me, this cat got off easy with the pinafore and broom action. The cat on the other tea towel is wearing bloomers and ironing.
