Here are a few of the things I made for gifts this year (that I didn't post before Christmas because I didn't want to ruin the surprise for some folks).
This is the Chicken Romance set I stitched up for my aunt Char's chicken-themed kitchen. (Try saying that three times fast.)
Char's chicken-themed kitchen. Char's chicken-themed kitchen. Char's chicken-themed kitchen.
Ha-ha. Got you.
Here are a set of santos-ish towels for Kelly First and Kevin's kitchen. The pattern is actually one that I drew up myself from a santos coloring book that Dave gave me for my birthday.
That's Santa Barbara, the protectress of the home. She usually holds a palm leaf and some kind of scepter, but here I substituted a pan and spoon for obvious reasons.
That's Nuestra Senora Reina Del Cielo, Our Lady Queen of Heaven. (I thought, too late, of giving her a salt cellar in one hand as though she were dispensing a pinch of salt.)
And I didn't get a pic of these towels before I wrapped them up, so I took them after they were unwrapped by my mother. That's some strange kind of bear on one towel and a little girl with a red balloon on the other.
I also didn't get a pic of my favorite set of towels, a set of pinup girls, that I stitched up for my brother, the one who requested a store bought gift. (Joke's on him--everything he got from me was handmade. HA!) Nor did I get a pic of a set of hankies that I stitched up with viruses and a lone bacteriophage for Kelly First. Those were kinda cool, I think.
Merry Christmas, y'all.
