Darwin's Lament

P1010022.JPG

Today was bright and sunny, so after studying a little chemistry, I took little Charles Darwin out for a walk. There he is, perched happily in a tree. Doesn't he look like he's enjoying the sunshine? He always brings a heavy book with him wherever he goes. That's dedication.

Charles Darwin, in case you don't know, married his own cousin and then fretted endlessly over the consequences of their inbreeding. That didn't stop him from doing it, however. They had ten children, seven of whom survived. He was, by all accounts, a very devoted father.

Incidentally, Darwin just had a birthday, his 200th.
