Like Bringing Owls to Athena

Owl Ornament

I made this little ornament for Kelly First, who holds the backyard owl spotting record for the spring/summer 2009 season. Two owls have taken to hanging out in her and Kevin's backyard. Can you believe it? Some of us don't even get one measly owl and she and Kevin get one each.

That's not fair.

Anyway, it's shrink plastic with an Enid Blyton illustration, oval jump rings, black embroidery floss, and a couple of paper beads that I made this morning.

Here are some other things, too:

Paper Bead Earrings

The latest trio of earrings. Those are origami paper beads. They're so brightly colored, the yellow especially. Not my aesthetic, really. I'm actually not good with color. I'm having to really push myself to use them.

I do like these, though.

Tonight I had coffee with my aunt before we went to water aerobics. It was really fun. (We both had large coffees though, so that by the time class was over, we both had to run for the bathroom.) We're probably going to go check out a new gym tomorrow, too. I like my gym, but I'm ready for a change of scenery, too.

The composition in your first photo is amazing, with the pink back drop against the black.

I can't wait to see more of your work Rosa. P.S. I am going to e-mail you the name of that book which helped me with my anxiety = )

Awesome, thanks! I'm reading a book by David Burns called "When Panic Attacks." It's really been helpful.
