Wednesday in Deming
I noticed this little still life as I was watering my mom's container garden this morning:
It's an egg-sized watermelon flanked by a couple of mushrooms that sprouted up in the last couple of days.
And Dave sent this photo from our little garden:
If you click on the photo, you can see a larger version. The little wild bee at the center has quite a load of bright yellow pollen on his back legs. Yay! Maybe bees are making a comeback.
And this is a pair of chica chandelier earrings I made last night.
The chica earrings are still evolving. I think these are a bit plain, actually. I'd love to use some embroidery thread or some fiber or papier-mache around the bare metal bit. They're not going to get bigger, necessarily--these are about five inches long--but more elaborate. Elaborate is not my aesthetic, though, really. I mean, I adore chaotic, but chaos has a beautiful kind of simplicity to it. Elaborate seems more planned. I have a hard time with it.
