Education Junkie

We're about a full third of the way through the dreaded storage unit. Ugh. This is a stack of the textbooks that we've uncovered so far. (This is by no means a complete stack. There are more textbooks in storage.)
From the bottom up:
Lehninger's Principles of Biochemistry,
McMurry's Organic Chemistry, 6th ed.,
Brock's Biology of Microorganisms,
A Color Atlas of Histology,
A Study Guide and Solutions Manual for Genetics,
Kuby's Immunology,
McMurry's Organic Chemistry, 5th ed.,
Voet and Voet's Biochemistry,
Biology (the basic text, going back to Bio 101),
Russel's Genetics,
Molecular Cell Biology,
Eukaryotic Transcription Factors.
They're all mine, sad to say. (Dave''s textbooks lean heavily toward math, computers and, yes, Sanskrit.) WHY in the world did I keep them? The sad thing is, this stack doesn't include my physics books, the earlier math texts, my cellular biology texts, or the English texts that I used to get my degree in that little subject--nor does it include the textbooks that Dave and I bought for fun. (Are we nuts, or what?)
Anyway, atop that little pile of awesomeness is Dave's shoebox full of articles that he reads to keep up at work, mostly stuff about computer programming that goes over my head.
Someday I'll show you the stack of books I've stolen from various libraries. That'll really impress you.
The Fam
I just got back from lunch with my Aunt Char and my niece and The Newbie. We went off to Flying Star and I had a BLT with a side salad and try as I might, I couldn't interest either of them in sharing a dessert. They've got discipline, whereas I have a bucket of lard strapped to my ass that needs constant feeding.
Luckily, yesterday my Aunt and I went walking with Kelly First. We only did a couple of miles, but it was still nice to get moving--especially considering that my Aunt and I skipped water aerobics the night before to go and have a big ol' cheap Chinese food feast. Yes, we ate egg rolls. Yes, we ate sweet and sour chicken, deep fried and drowned in sugary sauce. Yes, we ate fried rice. And wontons. And chicken wings. Man. I got a big ol' MSG buzz off that stuff. I swear, I was high for hours.

Girl J, I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling down! It's been a hard row since your move, no? I hope things are looking up.
Yes, there should be a 12-step program for us education junkies--or maybe a degree, something like an "Ed. J"!
