Little Pus-sy
It was kind of an eventful day.
We have a little visitor this evening.
That's Albus, the little studio cat. (Can you see how he's surrounded by a little island of shed cat hair? No, I don't miss that aspect of cat ownership at all.) Albus is spending the night because we took him to the vet this morning to have a lovely, pus-filled abscess on his cheek lanced and drained. This is the aftermath.
It looks so much better than it did yesterday. But, poor thing, when the vet tech shaved his face she also managed to shear off all the whiskers on that side.
After they drained it, the vet gave him a shot of antibiotics and sent us home with instructions to apply warm compresses to the wound 2-3 times a day so that it can keep draining. I don't miss this part of cat ownership either, 'cause yuck.
After the vet visit we brought Albus back to the casita, then Dave and I headed off to take Dave to work. Just to prove that no good deed goes unpunished, Dave got pulled over on the interstate and was ticketed for our cracked windshield. So now we have to have it replaced.
We should actually have done that a long time ago, but nevermind.
Anyway, Albus is happy now, all snuggled up to Dave.
So that was our day.
