Tots & Pieces

Bits and Pieces

S.E.L

1. I took this photo just before Thanksgiving break. I was in the science and engineering library, two stories below ground.

2. I took the GRE today, the graduate record examination. I got the score I needed to get into graduate school of course, but I didn't quite reach the score I needed to get certain fellowships that might do me some good later. I may, as a result, re-take the exam. (And I may study beforehand this time, as I didn't study at all in the months since I took the six-session GRE class last summer. There was no threat that worked to get The Brain to agree to study over the last several months or even the last several days. I have a rebellious brain.)

3. We've only sold about $280 worth of things in the sale. I'm fine with that; it amounts to about 1/5 of the studio's total sales. It's been slow, in other words. I also traded away two ornaments for two vases, and I gave away a carved bowl to one of the studio employees who has bought two of my other pieces.

Tomorrow Dave and I will be "working" the sale, helping whatever customers wander through the door. Then we'll get to help break it down, I think.

4. I'm grateful for several things:

One is that The Brain didn't rebel too, too much at having to take the exam.

Two is that we've sold anything at all in the sale.

Three was the bag of ice-cold tater tots that awaited me after the exam. (They came with the burger I had beforehand, but I didn't eat them. After the 3 1/2 hour exam, they were sitting there in the car and I scarfed them down like they were manna from heaven.)
