Evidence in support of this statement:
1. I don't own a skirt. Not a single one.
2. I haven't worn high heeled shoes in over three years.
Evidence to the contrary:
1. My makeup collection. I have a large train case filled with makeup, all kinds.
2. I have approximately ten pairs of high heeled shoes.
3. This pictures from a recent trip to Sally's Beauty Supply:
What are any of those things?
That's a strange device, no? It's a rat! Rats (or sometimes ratts) used to be made from hair harvested from hairbrushes and rolled into hairnets. It looks more like something you'd use to scrub pots and pans though it's actually used to add volume to hair. (Obama doesn't seem to like it, but really he just doesn't like being used as a backdrop for rat photos.)
These are some old school hairpins, about three inches long. Recently I've been paying attention to where the things I buy come from. No surprise: Most things I buy are made in China. These however are made in the USA by Sta-Rite.
I wonder what life in the Sta-Rite hairpin factory is like.
These, on the other hand, were made in Japan:
You can tell that they were made in Japan because of how they're packaged. They're arranged in neat rows and come in a little tin with a sliding lid.
