Yesterday, Saturday, was a long studio day. There were nine students, two of whom had the barest bit of experience. Getting nine students lined up and out of the starting gate clay-wise is not an easy task. At the end of the night, my back hurt from squatting and bending and my wrists hurt, too. Wah wah wah.
Around six-thirty, the studio quieted down and we all sat down to a potluck dinner. Kahori made chirashi sushi and potato croquettes. Lynn brought a lasagna. Dave and I brought posole and a banoffee pie, which turned from pie to a kind of soup. It was still good though. After dinner, there was all the student work to trim, about forty pieces. We didn't end up leaving the studio until almost 10:30.
My midnight snack--breakfast, too--was a couple of ibuprofen.
Today we slept in then went back to the studio to glaze some work. I glazed about twenty small bowls and Dave glazed eight pieces, all for the soda firing that's coming up in early December. (I can't believe how close we are to the end of the year!) I did not get around to trimming any of the work that's been sitting on my shelf for the last several days.
I'm in kind of a downer mood, which I'm going to blame on PMS.
Wah.
