Wall

Remember how I wrote about having a prophetic dream about there being construction around the casita? This is that construction as of yesterday. The wall is almost done, except for stucco and a gate. Our formerly cluttered little patio has been greatly extended; it used to end where the brick walk ends in front of the door, but now extends several feet beyond that. There were also some very large, overgrown plants that were taken out, leaving us with even more room. I don't know what we're going to do with all that space! I'm sure there'll be more plants--there always is--and a larger patio table (ours is nice but it's a small folding table that is none too stable) and perhaps a lounger to stretch out on and read (we have two chairs now).

When the wall gets stucco'd, Kelly had an idea to put some of my small carved pieces into it. I didn't really have anything ready (and it would take about two weeks before I could have anything ready), but then I remembered that I have little things like this that I carved almost two years ago:

Carving

That was inspired by a geology textbook from 1924 that I took off the free table about eight years ago.

And I've also started making planters for some new plants. They're small planters, but it's the first handbuilding I've done in a long time, a year maybe?
