Patio Gallery

Patio

The altar has moved this year to the corner under the kitchen window. It spends most of the day in shadow, so instead of marigolds, I planted coleus to go around it.  It's getting a bit worn, the altar, especially compared to its first appearance a few years ago. At some point I may paint a new one.

I spent part of the morning arranging a few pottery pieces on the patio here and there. There's more to come home with me from the studio. Much more.

Patio

Those are two pieces by an artist named Annie Rogers who died about a year ago. We have three pieces by her. That round piece is my favorites. Its tilt reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth painting. You know the one.

Patio

Those are two pieces by a friend of mine, Richard Pink. The larger one is gas fired, the smaller one raku. Richard is one of the artists who will be sharing the booth with me at the Celtic Festival in a couple of weeks.

This is one of two skulls I bought from a young artist at the studio. His first name is Kai, but I can't for the life of me remember his last name. Anyway, this raku skull is part of this little impromtu altar. (The other, plainer skull is nestled next to the stinging nettle as a warning. Damn plant got me last week.) It's hard to see the detail on the skull in this shot, but the nose is a little ladybug. Love it.

Hidden in among this little run of potted plants are two more pieces, one a tall tippy jar by the studio director where I work. The other a small tree I made using my older brother's mask.  You can also see Saba there wandering around. She loves being out on the patio. She has her little favorite spots to hide out and she loves to go around and inspect my work. She also especially loves to smell the flowers on the pink stocks.

Gray Kitty? Well, this is where he was while Saba and I were outside:

2 great iPhotos

Having a little lie down on the unmade bed, of course.
