It's sunny but rainy out, the kind of day when foxes have their weddings. You have to stay indoors in weather like this because if you accidentally see a fox wedding, that would be very, very bad luck for you.
Earlier on we had a huge lunch at NOSH, the Jewish deli on Nob Hill. Dave and I each had vegetable hash with eggs. I had an onion bialy with mine and Dave had rye toast. In a fit of gluttony, I also ordered chopped liver. When the cashier asked us if we wanted a pastry or something with our lunch, I told him that the chopped liver was my dessert. And it was. Man, that stuff is some fatty, luscious goodness. I ate the whole thing and washed it down with decaf coffee.
We had walked in thirty minutes before closing time, so I asked if we still had time to have lunch. (I worked in restaurants for long enough that I will almost never go into a place that's closing in an hour or less.) The cashier assured us that we did have time and, looking around at the crowded restaurant, I thought it would be fine. Of course just after we got our food, the place cleared out. And I mean, it cleared out to the point that as I was chowing down on the last of my chopped liver, someone was starting to put the chairs up on the tables in anticipation of mopping the floors. We got a to-go cup for the last of my coffee, threw down a few extra bucks on the table to make up for staying a few minutes past closing time (we had already tipped on the credit card slip), and thanked everyone profusely on the way out.
We headed up to the studio and did a bigger clean-up than usual. I swept, then Dave ran the shop vac over the floor, then I mopped. All of this was really for Judi's sake, since she just bathed and groomed Crunch (an exhausting four-hour undertaking) and she didn't want him to get all dirty and dusty from hanging out with us in the studio. (He has a vet appointment this week and she wanted him in pristine condition for that.)

Crunch loves hanging out in The Clubhouse! |
Judi has taken to calling the studio The Clubhouse since Crunch started pouting one day when she wouldn't let him come out to visit with us (we were leaving for the day). After she told him he couldn't go out to The Clubhouse with us, he went and lay down in the hallway and put his chin on the floor and wouldn't come when she called him. He wouldn't even look at her. Judif said he was pouting, but I think he was pissed.
Today though, he came out to newly cleaned The Clubhouse and I gave him a few treats before he settled down right behind my chair.
I worked on painting one of the pieces that came out of the kiln last weekend. We only had a limited time to work since we had to come back to the casita to get ready for pilates this afternoon.
Sunday Evening
Our instructor brought two of her four children to class today since she had no babysitter. (They were quiet but active little kids, one seven, one five, I think.) Today we had a slightly harder workout than last time. The week we took off while she was on vacation caught up to us.
After pilates, we stopped at Whole Foods for a few provisions. We ended up getting burritos (bean and cheese for Dave, carne adovada for me) for dinner. We sat in the little cafe area and ate them.
Dave dropped me off at Judi's, since I'm staying with Crunch tonight, and after unpacking my groceries and saying goodbye to Dave, Crunch and I went back out to The Clubhouse to work on a few things, including this little lady here:

I worked until just after 10:00 (Crunch's bedtime) and then came in to finish up a load of laundry and watch some bad TV. (Judi and Paul have every cable channel known to man--there's one channel up in the 900s that is nothing but an emergency broadcast system--and I still can never find anything worth watching. I have an episode of Archer on mute right now as I write this.)
Also, totally off the subject, but that damned burrito is giving me heartburn. Grrr!
Anyway, big plans tomorrow! My aunt and I are going to take a few things to the auction site I mentioned earlier. We'll see how that goes. I'm sure I'll have something to say about it!
