Harvest?

Last night, I was delighted to discover that Amazon has put the first six seasons of Sex and the City online, free for Prime members. So I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first season. I love this show. It doesn't relate to my life in any way, shape, or form, but I love the intelligent, sarcastic, thirty-something women that inhabit its fantasy world.

The part of the day that I didn't spend painting or hitting up the grocery store, I spent watching episodes of Sex and the City.

Painting: Today was painting day. (Tomorrow is study day.) I did a larger canvas, probably 1 1/2 x 2 feet, with the Latin phrase "NIL DESPERANDUM" stenciled onto it. It's black, white, and gray. I used the soft-body acrylics I bought awhile ago. They dry down to a satiny finish, unlike a lot of acrylics, which are shiny when they dry. (They also sell matte acrylics, but I don't have any of those.)

Grocery Store: I picked up some unsalted butter to put on popcorn, a couple of chicken breasts (one for lunch, one for dinner), eggs, coconut water, a couple of cans of tomatoes, whole wheat spaghetti, and milk. Lunch was a plain, poached chicken breast followed up by a big bowl of buttered popcorn. Dinner was chicken salad with tomato on a wheat hamburger bun that I pulled from the freezer, a peach, and a can of diet, caffeine-free Pepsi. I'm contemplating another giant bowl of buttered popcorn now.

The Moon: There's a giant, eclipsy moon happening right now, but it hasn't cleared the trees behind the casita, so I'm going to go out in a bit to check it out. It's a harvest moon, whatever that means in modern times.
