Bad Feminist
My fast ended up lasting almost 12 hours. By the time I got out of the lab, I was ready for something substantial to eat, so Dave and I stopped at Blake's and picked up a couple of breakfast burritos.
After that, I realized that the carton of soy creamer that I use in my coffee was up in Judi's refrigerator, so we made a quick run to the co-op so I could pick up another carton. While we were there, The Glucose-Deprived Brain convinced me that we also needed to buy some chocolate, black cherry jam, white bread, and bananas. (The Brain knew it couldn't talk me into buying it ice cream and donuts, so it went for less junky forms of sugar.) So I came home laden with that.
I got a bit of non-sleep type rest, took a shower, and got dressed. In the afternoon my brother and I ran a few errands that we topped off with, yes, a trip to Blake's for a burger. (I just had fries and a lemonade.)
When I came home, I was pretty exhausted so I lay down for a nap. Next thing I knew, Dave was home from work. I got up, we talked about dinner. Neither of us was hungry so we decided instead to go to the cell phone store and get ourselves a couple of swell new cell phones. It took about 90 minutes--ugh--but in the end we walked out with two snazzy new cell phones.
We were going to stop for dinner--ramen--on the way home, but found out that our favorite ramen place is closed until next month. Instead, we stopped by the co-op and picked up some tomatoes, cheese, and a few other things. We had bread, cheese, and salad for dinner.
What else happened today? Let's see. Oh! It snowed this morning. It was all gone practically before it even hit the ground, but it still happened. So that was good.
I also got a new t-shirt today, one I ordered a couple of weeks ago. It's based on Roxane Gay's book ("Gay gives us permission to take up the sword of feminism while laying down the shield of policed authenticity."), a black t-shirt with "Bad Feminist" emblazoned on it in bright pink. I kind of love it and can't wait to wear it.
