The Post-Exam Breakdown
So I made it through the first round of exams on Monday. I got a solid B on the anatomy and physiology II exam (I missed 8 questions on a 50 question exam), which I'm 100% okay with considering that the only study I did for it was to spend half an hour quickly reading through the Power Point slides while sitting in my car before the exam. The other, more challenging exam (four and a half solid days of studying) was in my pathophysiology II class. I have to wait until Monday night after lecture to see the grade. I'm expecting an A, but you never know.
So those are done. I have another exam week after next, and then it never stops. At the end of the semester, I'll have exams every week for four weeks in a row. So that should be fun.
After my evening class (an hour-long exam followed by three hours of lecture), I came home and Dave and I had a quick dinner of sauteed broccoli greens, chicken (for me), Quorn (for Dave), and a bit of shared baked potato and sweet potato. Dave had picked up a brownie for dessert, so we shared that. Sugar is its own reward most of the time, but The Brain also appreciated it after a long day.
I've been avoiding the news, but my Twitter addiction keeps bringing news around to me. I've had to start steering clear of the stories about the Brock Turner rape case as well as stories about the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard domestic violence case. I have to turn away from the gleeful misogyny of the world sometimes just to stay sane, and this is one of those times. Other news I avoid: Whatever racist garbage is coming out of Donald Trump's mouth this week. I apologize to the everyone for that anal wart being put on the world stage by our ridiculous political system.
What else has been going on?
Our very late garden is coming along nicely. Dave put up shade cloth to shield the poor plants from the blasting sun. (We're already getting temperatures near 100.) We even have some tomato plants setting fruit, believe it or not!
I registered for some classes for fall, just two (one of which I intend to drop). I am at the point where I have to decide on a program of study. I'm thinking of PTA school still but I'm also thinking that nursing would be interesting. I'm giving myself one semester, next semester, to consider and apply to programs.
We're dog-sitting for Kelly and Kevin for a couple of days, so I'm about to go over there and give the pups their dinner. Then I'll think about our dinner. I think Chinese take-out sounds great actually.

I keep hoping for the best (re: news) but some folks in this world want to prove me wrong.

Hi, Carol!
Yeah, best to avoid the news these days. Maybe until the election is over! (As long as we don't end up with President Reality TV, I mean.)
xo-Rosa :)
