#29 Saturday

Friday night I sewed a bit then it was time to pack up my sewing machine. (I also lost my standard presser foot, which is another story for another time.) So I did. I re-organized and packed up everything and put my sewing machine back in its case.

I need to start getting organized for the coming week and the beginning of the term.

I got a few hours of sleep in the night, then both Dave and I slept slept on and off throughout the morning and afternoon. We finally got things going around 3:00 p.m. or so--though we did get in an hour or so of cleaning. I cleared off the bookshelf where the printer and printer supplies are and Dave worked on clearing off his cluttered nightstand.

We both worked to clear off and put away the cat stuff (carriers and so on) that we left out after Saba died in July. We also moved her ashes from where we put them when she came back to us--on the window seat where she liked to sit on sunny afternoons--over to the shelf where we also keep Groucho and Alberdine's ashes. Sigh. I miss our little puppycat.

When we had enough cleaning, we went out to the studio via the fizzy drink store and I finished my sculpture while Dave glazed. I should have taken a photo of it, but I didn't. I will today if we go back.

Judi and Paul came out to chat while we were working. Judi has decided, now that Crunch doesn't have much time left, to get a new puppy from the breeder where she got Crunch. There are eleven new puppies, only a few weeks old, and Judi thinks that she'll have one in a few months at most. I don't know how Crunch will take it, but he likes little dogs, so maybe he'll enjoy it. She has already picked out a name for the new puppy, Buzz, which is not as bad as Crunch. So that's good.

We came home from the studio via the co-op where we picked up onions, garlic, bread, English muffins, lemons, and chocolate. Dinner was edamame pasta topped with avocado and a big salad of carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, red pepper, and tomatoes. While we ate, we watched part of an episode of The Great British Baking Show. After dinner, we shared the chocolate bar (Chocolove's pretzel in milk chocolate). Then Dave did the dishes.

I slept for a few hours and was up in the night. I should have been organizing my planner for the coming semester, but instead I worked on my quilting journal.
