Nap Instead

Did you see the moon last night? It was pretty amazing. I had a clear view of it throughout my drive to school this morning.

My reward for the long, boring drive was a long, boring lecture on heart failure. Important stuff, yes, but the instructor is disorganized and not remotely talented at lecturing. She also started in on material that's on the syllabus for next week, so people were totally unprepared for the lecture today. I hate it when instructors do tha.

I woke up exhausted, angry at my alarm for going off when I set it. I made coffee and lay in bed until my morning routine was thrown off. I got in the shower ten minutes late and stayed in the shower too long, trying to wake myself up. I forgot to put conditioner in my hair and when I tried to comb it out, I had such an awful snarl in one part that I ended up taking scissors to it. I still made it out the door on time, of course, in the same set of scrubs I wore yesterday. Which is fine, because I only wear them to lectures since the scrub top is one I bought online and it is far too big for me and doesn't have pockets, making it useless to wear to the hospital.

Everyone I talked to today was exhausted. The over-achiever president of the student association associated with our program complained to me about how overworked she is. I find it hard to have sympathy for her. She took the position for the status and she spends her time in class answering emails associated with the job rather than paying attention. For exams, she goes to the test banks and studies from there.

I had lunch yesterday with two women in the same program and one who left the program at the end of the second term, when lots of students left voluntarily or failed out. We had coffee and sandwiches and chatted for a few hours. I told them about my newest partner in the simulation exercises. She is... let's say "young," and leave it at that. I've had a couple of good partners and a couple who are going to have a hard time of it once they're out of school, I think.

Dave is home and we have to get some errands out of the way before my bedtime in two and a half hours. I should have done homework today but instead I napped.
