Over(home)worked

I've been kind of buried in homework this weekend.

Friday and Saturday I had to a write up for the pediatric simulation I did on Thursday. That was fun. The old battleaxes who teach the courses I'm taking are all technologically inept, so even though we have to submit our work online, some of it has to be submitted via email directly to the instructor and some of it submitted via the school's official website. If you make a mistake--and this was seven independent documents I had to submit for this one assignment--they refuse to give you the points. On top of all that, even though the school's website tracks assignments due, because the instructors are technology idiots, I'm still looking at due dates in October of last year. And they're all too proud to admit that they need help, so they just muddle along and let us handle the fall out for their ineptitude.

But that's fine. I guess it lets me get my frustrated school ranting out of the way early so that I can focus on other parts of my blog.

After finishing up the peds write up and submitting it by the 2:30 p.m. deadline on Saturday, I had to do another write up on the patient I took care of last week, the woman with cirrhosis of the liver. That took awhile, but I finished and submitted it by noon, well before the Sunday midnight deadline. Now I have to start on a presentation I have to give on Thursday. And, on top of that, I have an exam on Wednesday that I need to devote Monday and Tuesday to studying. Thankfully, I won't have class on Tuesday since that is the day that everyone who needs to is making up the two exams that I passed.

After the exam on Wednesday, I have two more days of clinicals, then this part of the semester will be finished. Next week, I'll start the second part of the term, with the five week psych rotation. Then I'll have two weeks off and go right into the next term.

I'll have my degree by August, though, and then it's just a matter of passing board exams and getting a job.

Won't that be fun?
