Allergies hit a couple of weeks ago and have laid me flat. When they get bad, the pressure in my sinuses pushes on my upper teeth and they begin to ache. So that's been fun to deal with.
Not much else has been happening since the health scare excitement. I've got an appointment with the orthopedic clinic this week and I'm still dealing with neck and jaw issues, but they've lessened a lot as I've started to do things to baby my neck. So that's good.
I've busted out some old, unfinished work and have been playing with some things. I made a curtain out of a bit of piecing I did just after I got my sewing machine, during a Christmas break from school. (School? Wow. I finished a degree in the last two years. Crazy.) I also started working on a bit of freestyle piecing I did that has a series of houses in a little neighborhood. I put that away because I wasn't sure how to add borders to it (now I'm not sure it needs it). I knew it needed something more, so I pulled out my old embroidery patterns (those retro, kitschy designs from the Aunt Martha line) and ironed some onto the quilt top and started doing a very limited amount of embroidery (because sitting for hours with my neck bent downward is no bueno).

I did a teeny-tiny bit of painting on the new sculpture, but she's tall enough that holding my arms up in that position is not great for my neck and I can't do much at at time.

So that's it. Art and Allergies.
