Quick Update

It was a quiet day for me today.

I did get out of the house in the afternoon; we had to go and exchange two of my oxygen tanks that were depleted. (I need to remember to call and cancel the delivery that I scheduled online.) It was a lovely day, but already getting too hot out.

Dave had gone earlier to pick up groceries with my brother, then he ran me around to pick up the oxygen, then he went out again to visit his mother. He took the dog with him, which was nice. While they were gone, I cleaned up a bit and made dinner (a tofu and vegetable stir fry with something called "RightRice," which is  billed as a "vegetable-based rice" but which mostly resembles orzo). Dessert was dark chocolate sunflower butter cups (Reece's knock-offs) from Trader Joe's. (I joined Weight Watchers five days ago and today was the first day I've eaten all my points because of those damned things.)

While we had dinner, we watched the latest full episode of TaskMaster on YouTube. I think it aired five or so seasons ago. Sarah Millican was on that season. I like her a lot.

After dinner, Dave filled up the hummingbird feeders with some sugar water I had made earlier. He's sitting out on the courtyard now with the dog and cat (who are actually tolerating each other's presence much better these days). Gray Kitty has been doing some hunting out there and has caught at least two mice and a lizard. As long as he stays away from the birds, I'm okay with him depleting the local mice population.

Oh, that reminds me: A few nights ago we were driving down our street at dusk and something big crossed the road in front of us. It was big enough to be a large stray dog or coyote (there's a pack that is active in our neighborhood), but as we got up closer to it, we could see that it was a mountain lion. I've never seen one outside of zoos. I imagine it's got some good hunting with the rabbits and quail (it's their breeding season and Dave swears he's already seen some tiny quail chicks around) and rodents all around us.

Here's some stuff that happened over the last week:

Dave and I went to the dermatologist for our yearly skin checks.

I managed to get appointments to have my lungs and heart checked out over the next nine days. (The healthcare facility I usually use had appointments open in November and December.)

I sewed a small bit, working on some blocks for a crumb quilt variation. I have thirty-three blocks completed, only nine left to go. I also need to mail the quilts that I paid for quilting for, like, two months ago. Shit. Those really slipped down and off the to-do list.

I've gone back to my art journal.

I've moved on from the last therapist.

Tonight's plan: I desperately need a shower. I didn't have one last night--a mistake--and I need to get the layer(s) of sunscreen off me.
