Th-Th-Th-Th-That's All, Folks!
The Random, Updated
Today was the first day that I thought winter might end. It was warm enough to open the windows, and for once the walk to the gym didn't feel like punishment.
I haven't the presence of mind to write a longer entry, but here are a few random bits and pieces from my life.
The Prodigal Student
Last night, the Handsome Businessman returned to The Kaisha. I haven't seen him since before the new year as he's been too busy to come to his lessons. He's emailed once, but other than that, I haven't heard from him. He hung around in the lobby after his lesson (which he's now taking from New Guy) and we chatted and he asked me what I was doing after work (a muddy hint about going out drinking) and I said, "Going to the gym."
Sorry. I don't--despite the fact that nothing will ever happen between us--like to be left for months at a time.
Distress
I cracked a molar, which brings the total number of cracked molars up to three. That's right, I have three cracked molars and I haven't been to a dentist since I've come to Japan. The latest cracked tooth doesn't hurt, but I can feel it with my tongue, a crack that runs up the surface of the tooth up past the gumline. I finally called a dentist, a Japanese dentist who speaks English--or claims to--and who was trained in Australia. We'll see. I have an appointment next Saturday.
Gymp
As I said, I've returned to the gym. I went a couple of times after returning to Tokyo, but I was just jet-lagged and sad and couldn't bring myself to sustain any long workouts. I was also depressed about having gained eight kilos since I came to Japan, and I just didn't want to face the scale at the gym. Anyway, I went back today and did a warm up and upper-body workout. I'll go back tomorrow for a lower-body workout.
Sigh.
Th-Th-Th-That's All
That's all I have the energy for at the moment.
