There's an action shot of The Newbie sent by my niece via cell phone. When I texted her to ask what the crazy baby was doing, she wrote "picking up her legs and making noise." Those crazy babies. What will they think of next?

However, from The GRRR Files (not to be mistaken for The Grrl Files): I forwarded this pic to my flickr account which allowed me to look at it on a larger screen than that on my cell phone and I can clearly see that my niece has had The Newbie's ears pierced. Yes, a three-month old baby with pierced ears. And, yes, it is common in my family to have it done, so I don't know what I'm going on about, except that I don't really agree with the practice (even though I've had lots of things pierced over the years). I was about four years old when my own ears were pierced by the very old woman who lived across the street from my grandmother. She used a sewing needle and thread and a vinegar-soaked raw potato to catch the needle as it went through my ear.

Anyway, I'm having lunch with The Newbie and her mama tomorrow, so there'll be more photos.
