Just a few minutes drive from the Casita is this place, the San Antonio Oxbow, where Kelly First, Dave and I went to look for cranes today. Well, I don't know if that was our stated purpose, but the cranes are coming through and perhaps we did have the smallest bit of the teeniest expectation about the possibility of a crane sighting. So, it was lucky that we did see a single crane. (I think he was lost.) We could also hear some cranes hiding (?) behind the trees along the river.
In addition to our lost crane, we also saw a roadrunner and a lizard and three or four ducks.
Look at that perfect autumn sky.
