Things I've Made
So, I really do have a great deal of angst as evidenced by the number of my old journals. I'm still trying to do something with those old journals, and last night I had the idea to try to make little mini-shrines from them.
This is my first attempt:
It's actually pretty small. The base is one-inch square and the little box is the same square with the sides folded up a little less than a quarter of an inch. The Catrina calavera is one that I found online and the whole thing is held together with Glossy Accents, a kind of thick glue that's cloudy when you put it on but that dries clear.
I added another layer to the calavera once the first layer dried. To this layer, I added some turquoise glass marbles. I want some kind of resin-like effect with this project. We'll see how that goes.
Here's something else I made--and yet another reason why I should never become a food blogger:
What is that, right? This is something I made to take to a party that one of Dave's coworkers had last night. It's a cookie dough pie. Want the recipe? Take one bag of Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies, two tubs of Cool Whip, and one cup of milk. Dip the cookies in the milk and lay them in a pie tin until you have one layer. Top them with Cool Whip and repeat the process, ending with Cool Whip.
It's disgustingly sweet and very white trash and people either love it or are repulsed by it. Or both. Like me. I only ate about three servings of it.
I also made this:
This is one of Dave's birthday t-shirts. He wore it to the party last night.
