Walled
Walled

I still can't really show you the stuff I'm doing (Christmas presents, yo!), but here is the wall in my cubicle, already beginning to show signs of my altar-building packrat habits. At the top is a print I bought at an art show. I loved the fat-faced woman. Below that is a mini Frida Kahlo shrine next to a photograph of a skull that I ripped out of National Geographic. Below that is a couple of bags of spices, cumin and anise (maybe?). There are also photocopies of my grandmother's embroidery and santos and a photograph of a wolf spider. There is a string of carnelian beads that Dave's grandmother brought me from Africa and a few scattered bits of poetry.
If I am left to my own devices, the whole wall would soon be covered with such artistic detritus.
Mostly though, I am focused on getting those Christmas gifts made. I've been telling everyone that they can have either an ugly bowl or an ugly plate. I may expand my repertoire to include ugly cups, but I'm not sure yet.
No, yo! Actually, I'm making some beautiful things...even if I do say so myself.
