Monster

I painted this guy, a little monster, last night. The plate is small, about the size of a large saucer. He's got two brethren, other monsters. Today I glazed him with a clear glaze and slid him into a hot kiln and sometime tomorrow I will see the final product.

This morning Dave and I trundled off to the museum to look at some wild art. Then we had lunch in the museum cafe, a fine buffet lunch of New Mexican food, enchiladas and menudo and carne adovada and sopapillas. We had flan and biscochitos for dessert. In the museum gift shop I found two things: a pair of over the top Virgin of Guadalupe earrings that were way too expensive, and a tube of handcream with the most amazing scent that was not too expensive. (I wish I could describe the scent of this handcream. I swear someone I met once, a long time ago, when I was a child, smelled like this. It's like a cross between a Seville orange and a gigolo. I've taken to calling it my "gigolotion," if only because that makes Dave giggle.)
