Everyone's Doing Better Now

Some new work (in progress), mine:

Vases, actually, handbuilt. I had just finished giving them a wash of iron oxide (rust, in other words) when I took this picture. After they sat overnight (not a necessity, I'm just lazy), I wiped off most of the iron oxide, glazed the inside with a deep but transparent blue glaze and now they're in the kiln along with seventeen other pieces.

At first he was not doing well.


Now he's doing better. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

That is an adorable baby right there, no? Just look at him! Most newborns kinda look all maggoty or grub-like, but this little one is just a beaut right out of the gate I think. Mazel tov to his mama and papa and big brother.
