I backed up into the far corner to take that picture. The study cells are about the size of walk-in closets. Enough room for me, my textbook and bag of pens, a bottle of water, and a cup of coffee.
That's the sky over the chemistry building at about 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. I used to work in that building. See that window on the far left? The last one? That was my window, the window in front of my desk in the lab. Those windows are about eight inches wide and run from floor to ceiling, which makes them about ten feet tall.
And this thing is one of the things that thrilled me this week. Literally brought me to tears. It's a Lefkovitch matrix that manipulates plant life cycle data based on stage-specific survival rates. You can toggle it in ways that end up accurately predicting the outcome of specific scenarios. It's freaking awesome! One of the women in the lab did her presentation on this during our lab meeting on Monday. (This was still on the whiteboard when I went in to the lab this morning so I snapped its picture.)
Aside from that, I'm studying studying studying. I have another exam and lab practical coming up on Tuesday. That will immediately be followed by the harvesting of our tobacco plants. It should be interesting.
