It was a gray day all around. I spent most of the day working on a paper that is due in botany today. (Now I'm just dodging texts from my group mates who, having not bothered to keep their lab notebooks up to date, are now wanting me to provide them with dates and so on on demand, as they write their papers that are due in about three hours. I really hate being the responsible one, so I've just started to lie about not having dates, suggesting to them that they either fudge it or make something up, which is a kind of non-solution because if they do, the professor is sharp enough to catch them.)
Anyway, so that's what the sky was doing yesterday.
And this is what was blooming in the greenhouse last week:
Is that a nutty thing or what? I don't know if it's a done-deal flower or if there's more to the show. Despite eight weeks in botany, I still don't know very much about flowers. They're pretty. And sometimes pretty strange. I know that.
And this is what my toes were doing Friday before last:
My aunt and I went for more pedicures. I had taken off the blue polish and decided on this green. The woman added the grass-like design for an extra $5.
I should be studying right now, but I am so, so tired. I haven't been sleeping very well at night for one reason or another. I've probably gotten about seven hours of sleep total in the last two days. I'm ready for a nap, but it's so hard for me to sleep on campus. Maybe I'll just have more coffee.
