'S Mug Trickery!

Yesterday I posted pictures of two of my new mugs, noting that they held 16 and 20 ounces. Today, on our walk, my aunt commented that they didn't look that big, and we talked about our ideas for the right sizes for mugs. (I think 16-20 ounces is just about perfect, but she thinks smaller is better because then the coffee doesn't have time to get cold. Me, I don't mind drinking cool-ish coffee. Caffeine is caffeine!)

Anyway, today I was thinking about how to show the size of the mugs in a photograph, and this is what I came up with.

Cups

The white porcelain cup on the left (made by another potter) holds 8 ounces or 1 cup. The blue mug holds 20 ounces. (I should have photographed the cups' diameters to show the difference...)

cups

Here you can see the 1/2 cup measure that I used to check the white porcelain cup's capacity. (I couldn't find my one cup measure.)

Anyway, like I said, my aunt and I have been walking in the afternoons on her lunch hour. Near my house, there's a 3 mile loop that we've been doing. I also have been walking with Judi from time to time. Last week, I logged ten miles! (Which is ten miles more than I did the week before, let me tell you.) This week, so far, I've logged just over eight miles--and it's only Tuesday!

The only problem is, when I exercise, I want to eat more. Just now, I finished what I call L2 (L2 for lunch #2, which is leftover terminology from when I was working out six days a week and eating six miniscule meals (B1, B2, L1, L2, D1, D2) a day. And when I say miniscule, I mean 150-200 calories per meal.) L2 was an Amy's frozen tamale lunch and half a can of cheese raviolis. (Which, to keep things in perspective, was just under 600 calories. If I eat six 600 calorie meals per day? Forget it!)

Calorie talk is the least interesting talk on the planet, isn't it?

Yawn!
