Saturday Morning
Both cats had to go to the vet this morning for yet more vaccinations. They have had so many already. They were vaccinated against everything the vet could think of, including ingrown toenails I think. They weathered it well; I got a scratch from Saba (who was aiming at Gray Kitty). We came home with two unhappy cats and a $16 four-pound bag of cat food that's supposed to help keep their teeth clean. Gray Kitty won't eat it (he's more of the $2 per can organic cat food type) but Saba thinks it's a four-pound bag of treats and she actively begs for them.
Before the vet's visit, we actually got up early and went to the farmers' market. What did we buy? $36 worth of goat cheese and yogurt, for one thing. We also got kale, chard, radishes, eggs, orange cauliflower, breakfast burritos, apple fritters, and palmiers. In the craft and sometimes art section of the market I bought two tea towels, one of which has a stylized depiction of the VLA silkscreened on it. I like the farmers' market because I get to wear my straw hat and avoid sampling foods at booths, two of my favorite things to do at farmers' markets. As we were heading to the market, I thought: I wonder if this will be enough to vault us into the pretentious Yuppie semi-finals or if we'll have to get an electric car for that?
So far today, I've eaten three slices of leftover pizza (shortly after midnight), a concha (Mexican sweet bread), a breakfast burrito, and an apple fritter. I've had three cups of coffee.
We're home now for a bit before we have to go to the studio. Dave and I both got back into our pajamas. Gray Kitty crawled into his closet hideout to sleep off the stress of a vet visit and shot. Saba ran immediately to her food bowl and begged for treats, so I opened the $16 bag of cat food and gave her a handful.
