A Night

This is where Dave and I were last night, at a performance called "A Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen and The Works." Not that we're great Queen fans (nor great Gary Mullen fans), but Judi passed on a pair of tickets from her season pass and we went. It was actually a really good show. The musicians were top notch. And this is how old I have gotten: It was very loud, so much so that I actually dug out a pair of earplugs that I had in my bag and put them in. I could still hear the music of course, but it dulled down the hyper-amplified quality so that I could also still hear things later.

How close is Gary Mullen to Freddy Mercury?  Here is Gary Mullen, performing as Freddy Mercury in a Japanese commercial for Nissin Cup Noodle:

Uncanny, no?

And, yes, I know that everyone loves "Bohemian Rhapsody," (which they did cover last night) but my favorite Queen song (one of my favorites anyway) is "You're My Best Friend."

Judi also passed her Saturday night tickets to us, so we're going to see "Young Frankenstein."
