I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I did take a few of the things I liked, including this black widow spider set up near the greenhouses:
And this mass of flowers and flowery things:
And this--guess what this is!
Yup, an octopus.
They also had a little squadron of hummingbirds flapping their wings, bees in a beehive, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a whale, scorpions, fish, a Pegasus, a unicorn, everything. I mean, not all at once, but you could walk around and see all these things in various settings. So it was fun. Cold, but fun.
Studio Time
And today was a studio day. I need to get some pictures of the work I'm doing. It's all still green, but The Brain is having a lot of fun chewing on the construction of these little pseudo-cells.
However! It irks me when people come over and ask what I'm making--that question has always irked me; I don't like to talk about my work while I'm working on it, and almost never when it's finished because it's usually different enough that people don't know how to respond. I guess I could be the bigger person and say that they're cells, but then I'd have to explain why they don't look like cells or why they have these strange parts or why they look like coral reefs or even why I'm making cells. And then I'd have to listen to the inevitable comment that people have when they don't know what to say: "Oh, they're so cute!" And--grrrr!!!!
So when anyone asks what I'm making, I just say, "Hmmm. I don't actually know." And there's no real response they can give to that.
Well that turned into a rant-o-rama, didn't it?
Other New Things Afoot:
We're doing Apartment Therapy's January Cure, so tonight we came home from the studio and scrubbed the floors in half the casita. Tomorrow we're doing the other half. The rest of the month will have various cleaning and organizing and de-cluttering assignments. It's time to get some of that done.
I've also started keeping a five-year, one-sentence journal. Every night I write one sentence in a journal that has space on each page for five years worth of entries. I'm a journal-keeping, blog-writing fool from way back, but I think it'll be an interesting switch to do it a sentence at a time.

Wow. One sentence per day. Run-on sentences may become a wonderful thing, no? :)
It's a do-able goal! ;)
