Friday Yard Sail

Friday was a long day on top of little sleep.

I was up at 5:35 and my mom picked me up at 6:30 or so. We went through the McDonald's drive-in so that she could get breakfast. (I had eaten a soy-nut butter and banana sandwich on Ezekiel bread and had a cup of coffee earlier, so I got an iced tea for a shot of caffeine.) We were at my aunt's house a bit after 7:00.

We set up a bit of stuff and then around 8:00, my aunt went out to put up her yard sale signs. Almost immediately people started showing up. I sold a few things right off the bat, but then sold nothing else all day long. The rest of the time I just talked to people, helped to arrange stuff, ran out to Dion's to pick up lunch, and helped to cover up at the end of the day. (We're doing it all again on Saturday.)

It was overcast and cool all day, but about midday, I put on my big hat and some sunscreen since I could already feel like I was getting too much sun.

Dave got off work early and came out around 3:00. I wanted an early dinner, so he ran out to pick up subs, yes, from Dion's.

At 6:00, we shut everything down and came home. I took a shower to get all the sunscreen off and then went almost immediately to bed. Of course that meant that I got about four hours of sleep before getting up at midnight. It's 2:30 now and I can't sleep. And we'll be back at my aunt's house again around 7:00.

Hope you sell a few more things today.
I went to bed at 9:00 last night, read for an hour. I thought I was totally exhausted -I got up a little after 5:00..Blergh!

What is with these not-enough-sleep nights recently? Is the planet tilted on its axis is a weird way that's shaking us all out of bed? There is no rational explanation.

I miss things like yard sales! I hope the next day goes better for you.

Were you a yard saler (sailor?) in your former life? I never have been, but my aunt is a great aficionado. I piggybacked on her yard sale this time. Don't think I could do it on my own: It's too much darn work!

Not really. I went to a few, although the area I lived in didn't have a lot of houses, it was mostly apartments. I enjoy poking my nose through other people's junk however! Love finding "stuff" that I didn't expect.
