The Hands Are Too Big

ARGH!
20150812_181513.jpg
So do I pull them off and start all over? Do I try to whittle down the fingers a bit to make them skinnier and try to make the hands look smaller that way? Do I try to fool myself that I can shade the hands with color so that they appear smaller? Do I leave them as is, because most of the time they're going to be hidden behind the piece?

Also: She has kind of a Kim Kardashian-sized ass in this picture, doesn't she? It's very hourglASSy, isn't it?

And the ghost of sculptures future, seen here, has kind of a creepy stare, don't you think?

They always have a strange look at this stage. I mean, they're strange anyway, but as the color starts to go on, they get a little stranger. I think it's partly because of our associations with colors and our uneasiness with un-colorful things.

The Day

It was a quiet day around here. The most exciting thing I did all day was throw together a big pan of veggie and cheese enchiladas for dinner. The least exciting thing I did all day was take a nap in the afternoon.

Now I'm surfing around on the internet looking at celebrity gossip sites and trying to figure out how to spend my Sephora gift certificate. I'm thinking about some moisturizer from Clinique and a new lipstick, as always.

I got the Besame lipstick I ordered last time (have had it for a couple of weeks now) and it is gorgeous. Besame recreates shades from the 20's, 30s, and 40s, and I got one from the 30s that is just a beautiful, deep red with enough brown to keep it from looking like clown makeup. I love it.

I am no help with the hands - I don't sculpt - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Never tried a Besame lip color - now don't tempt me!!! :)

Hands are my kryptonite! I used to feel that way about handles when I was making coffee cups. Dave hated making handles, too, and so we drank our coffee out of handle-less mugs for, like, 8 years! LOL! Then I decided to do a couple rounds of 100 coffee cups with handles and that cured me of my fear of making handles. Hopefully I'll get to that point with hands, too.

Besame make terrific lipsticks (and if you just want to try the brand, you can get a sampler that is like a matchbook with the match ends holding the lipstick for only $6!) The lipstick I have from them is up there with my other favorite lipsticks from Ardency Inn ("Lovecats") and Hourglass ("Icon"). I was looking at a gorgeous Guerlain one this morning, but $53 for a lipstick is highway robbery!!

Ughhh I hate making handles...I should really do a ton of them like you did.

Lipstick for $53 - crazy I know! Do you follow the Non-Blonde/Gaia's blog?
I'll check those Besame and Arendy Inn ones out - I'll just windowshop. One thing about being dead-broke is that I am using up a lot of the ones I have - and man do I have a lot!
