Serotonin's Call
We went to the studio this afternoon and I painted a couple of the ladies I finished in the last couple of weeks and then brought out my stamps and used them to make a few small catch-all type dishes from some scraps of clay. Dave threw some vases for the raku firing.
We didn't stay too long at the studio, just long enough to get some work done and feed Crunch a handful of biscuits. (We didn't even worry about getting busted by Judi since she's out of town.)
After leaving the studio, we were going to head up to Target because even though we've been there twice in the last couple of weeks, I kept forgetting to buy bath soap. Finally, I ran out and was forced to use Dave's beloved olive oil soap, which because I'm used to Ivory, felt like using, well, a handful of olive oil to wash. Not very effective, in my opinion. Dave likes it though.
On the way to Target, I asked Dave if he wanted to grab something to eat and after checking a couple of places online, we ended up at Chopstix. We ordered a dish of green beans in black bean sauce to share and I had ginger chicken and Dave had mapo tofu. The older Chinese ladies there are getting to know us a bit, know our drink orders and favorite dishes, that kind of thing. We usually go in with Judi and Paul, both of whom are 30+ years older than us. Last time we went in without them, the waitress said, "No grandma and grandpa today?" And I was, like, please don't ever say that in front of Judi and Paul. Paul wouldn't care, but Judi is under the impression that she still passes for 29, and I would hate to see the fallout.
The restaurant was near a dollar store, so I thought we might save ourselves a trip to Target if they had Ivory soap. I mean, who doesn't carry Ivory soap, right? They did have it, so I picked up a big pack of, like, eight bars for three bucks.
We came home, put our leftovers away, and proceeded to so some hardcore laying around.
I'm craving sweets though! I think it's PMS or who knows what, but it could just be The Brain desperate to provoke some serotonin production. I had a baked potato and some hot chocolate for breakfast and white rice (Asian candy) for lunch, but it seems like The Brain wants nothing more than to dive head first into a vat of vanilla soft serve. I tried a bit ago to quell the sugar cravings with a banana, but it didn't work. I'm jonesing for the hard stuff: Refined white sugar.
Later: Okay, we just got back from Sonic, where I scarfed down a vanilla soft serve cone. I love those things. Let's hope it's enough to keep The Brain happy for awhile.
