We All Scream for I Scream
Monday went like this:
I got up early, ever early, and took my med, waited an hour, had breakfast.
I made Dave's lunch and then went back to bed while he got ready for work. When he left, I promised him that I would, in a couple of hours, call to make an appointment with a new therapist. I did.
Then I went back to sleep and slept most of the day. (Some days are like that.) I got up, took a shower, then went back to bed.
In the evening, we went out to dinner with my brother. We had the beloved spicy broccoli in garlic sauce at the Chinese restaurant near Costco. (It was especially good tonight.) Then we went to Costco.
We picked up a bunch of stuff, yogurt and berries and cheese and on and on. Then we drove out to see where the new therapist's office is. It's about as far away from our house as you can get, but that's fine. The building is bright yellow, which is good.
We dropped off some things at my brother's place and then came home via the Co-op (we ran into one of Dave's old co-workers in the parking lot and stood and chatted for a bit). At home, we put away all our stuff.
I printed out the forms I have to take to the therapist and this week's lab exercises and then I sat down to watch the next bit of Lawrence of Arabia and then to journal. Dave practiced his clarinet and folded laundry.
I went to bed and fell asleep listening to an episode of Bob's Burgers.
Later, Tuesday:
I just got back from the new therapist's office. Dave took the morning off from work to go with me, although he stayed out in the car while I went in.
I tried a new thing in therapy: I just told the truth and didn't try to hold much back. I think she's going to be okay--but then again, I think that about almost every new therapist. We'll see. I'm going back to see her on Thursday. I need some heavy duty care right now and then I'll back down to once a week.
I felt exhausted after, and hungry, too. On the way home, we went through the drive-through at McDonald's and I got a quarter pounder deluxe and fries. I sat at the kitchen table and inhaled my junk food lunch.
Even Later, Tuesday:
Dave went to work and I went to bed. I slept until about 3:45, when I got up and made dinner. I threw together a big pot of chili, which Dave had requested the day before. He came home just as I was finishing up and we threw on our gym clothes and headed over to meet up with our personal trainer substitute.
After our workout, we came home and had chili for dinner. We topped it with cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, and diced avocado. It was good, but of course it gave me heartburn.
After dinner, we went up to Michael's and I bought some air dry clay and a small tool set. I want to have some clay to play with at home and I thought that would work. After Michael's, we went over to Vitamin Cottage and picked up a few things, including a single-sized serving of strawberry ice cream that was my reward for making it through the day.
