A Quick Monday
Monday already.
The afternoon brought me a copy of Ta-Nihisi Coates's memoir The Beautiful Struggle about Baltimore boyhood with a Black Panther father. It's an amazing book and by night I was halfway done.
The afternoon also brought an appointment with a new therapist. I'm getting tired of telling my story to new therapists. I want to be done telling it. Anyway, we'll see how this one goes.
And my hives keep coming back. Ugh. I had them on my face when I woke up this morning, so I took some benadryl and went right back to bed. When I woke up, I got them on one of my arms. I didn't want to take more benadryl, so I rubbed on some hydrocortisone cream and then some benadryl cream (which is non-systemic, so it doesn't knock me out). It seemed to help. They go away after a few hours, but they itch like crazy.
When I got home from the therapist's office, Dave was already at the gym. I made a bowl of Malt-o-meal to provoke some serotonin production. Cheap, easy carbs do have their use! Then I read some celebrity gossip online.
We had take-out Chinese food for dinner. The usual cook was gone. The replacement cook is not as talented. But he was apparently more motivated to cook than I am.
After dinner, I had a banana for the potassium and then I remembered that I had to finish some assignments online so I logged on and spent about half an hour finishing that up. The weekly assignments don't bother me too much. They're ridiculously easy anyway.
After I finished that up, I read Ta-Nihisi Coates until I fell asleep. It's been a long time since I fell asleep reading; I miss it.
