Flu-zy

I just got back from my weekly pathology lecture. And I have the flu. Those two things are not necessarily related--although I did pick up the flu from somewhere.

It's not horrible--yet--the flu, but I'm expecting it to get a little worse. (Hopefully it won't be too incapacitating.) Unhappily for me, I have an exam on Monday that I need to spend the weekend studying for. Right now, I really only want to sleep and drink lots of hot liquids. That's tonight and tomorrow. Saturday and Sunday I'm going to study.

Anyway, the week was long and a bit lonely as Dave has been out of town since Sunday. (He's on his way home right now.)

I skipped class on Monday, had lunch with my mom and Tuesday, went to class Wednesday and tonight, saw the doctor this morning, but aside from those things, I was pretty much a hermit. I knew I was getting sick probably on Tuesday afternoon, but it didn't turn into a cough until this morning.

Now it's still a low-level cough and some aching in my chest. I felt a little feverish in the afternoon, but nothing horrible. Hopefully with lots of rest and fluids, I can avoid the worst of it.

Oh no! Please take care of yourself. Everyone is paranoid about the flu this year over here. I hope you don't really have it, or just a mild strain.

Get some sleep! It should do you good.

Thanks, Helen. Everyone here is sick. I can think of about five people I've come into contact with who have the flu. It doesn't help that instructors are suddenly adamant about not forgiving absences and never giving makeup exams so students are showing up sick.

Stay healthy!
