We got in a little studio time on Saturday afternoon and I worked on the new piece. I started this piece weeks and weeks ago, mostly to use up some janky clay that I had laying around. I built to the base of the neck and then I got busy with school so let it sit for a long time. A few weeks, actually. Then I added the neck and let it sit for a few more weeks. (School again.) When I went back last weekend, I added the head and got it up to this point:
Before I left for the day, I dented the back to add another skull. I had this idea that they would be in some kind of conversation with one another.
But when I saw her hollowed out eyes, I knew that they would never get cartoonish eyeballs. She was not cartoonish.

Saturday, I added some dimension to her face and carved teeth into both. (I didn't get a good picture of the post-teeth faces.) The eyeless skullie has a gap between slightly buck teeth.
